New Ukash system turns online credit into real cash

Online money provider Ukash’s recent decision to launch a new system which allows you to access your online money – gained from winning on sites such as 32Red,, PokerStars, PartyPoker and more – is big news for anyone looking for ways to get more cash in their wallet .

The new cash out system means that instead of just being able to use Ukash to make purchases online, you will now be able to turn that credit into ‘real world’ money to spend on anything. Want to find out more? We run through the essential Q and As:

First up, what is Ukash?

Ukash is e-money that can be used to make secure and immediate online payments. It can be purchased using normal cash at approximately 420,000 participating retail locations across the globe.

How do you use Ukash online?

When you buy Ukash, you are given a code. Then, when you buy something online, you simply enter that code. Ukash is accepted by thousands of sites across the web. You can also use Ukash to load credit onto prepaid cards.

Is Ukash trustworthy?

Ukash is safe to use and allows you to pay for things securely online. Ukash has been recognised with awards – in 2011 and 2012 the company won a Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in the International Trade category. Ukash also came 23rd in The Sunday Times Tech Track 100 in 2011.

So what’s new?

Until now you were only able to move Ukash money around online. Now, thanks to Ukash’s new system, you can get your money right out of cyberspace and into your pocket. That means any winnings you get from online gaming can benefit you in ‘real world’ spending.

How does it work?

You can now withdraw your Ukash as real cash from over 2,500 BankMachine cashpoints and 25,000 PayPoint locations nationwide. Just follow these steps:

1)      Go to the Ukash website and enter your Ukash code.

2)      Decide how you want to withdraw the cash: you can get it via an ATM or a PayPoint shop.

3)      ATM: You will be given a ten-digit withdrawal code. Just enter it at a BankMachine ATM.

PayPoint: If you choose this option the Ukash site will give you a voucher to print off and take into a PayPoint shop. You’ll need to take your ID with you to show at the shop.
